Window in an old monastery building in Bagan, where Buddhism first took hold in Myanmar. Most of the thousands of shrines on the Irrawaddy River plain are now in blatant disrepair from a series of earthquakes forty years ago, but the fallen plaster has exposed the skillful brickwork beneath.
